2014 Reading Challenges

Here are the challenges that I’m participating:

I’ve always seen book blogs that participate in reading challenges. That intrigued me. I usually participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge, where I usually set an amount of books to read that’s doable. Since most of the reading challenges “allow” overlap of books that qualify for other reading challenges, I decided to take the plunge. And I’m certain that there will be plenty of overlap. In 2014, I’ll be participating in a few reading challenges.

Here’s a list of Reading Challenges for 2014:

I’ll admit I enjoy young adult novels. I’ve read the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, the Blue Blood series by Melissa de la Cruz, the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins. And a few other books that are not in series, so I figured this is a good challenge to participate.

  1. The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore
  2. The Fall of Five by Pittacus Lore
  3. The Medusa Plot by Gordon Korman
  4. The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielson
  5. Defy by Sara B. Larson
  6. Carter Finally Gets It by Brent Crawford
  7. Divergent by Veronica Roth
  8. Insurgent by Veronica Roth
  9. Allegiant by Veronica Roth
  10. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

2014netgalleychallenge

I’m a member of Netgalley and I have an outstanding list of about 10 books that I need to read and provide feedback. So this is a great challenge to join.

Like I need one more challenge, but I just love audiobooks. It took me awhile to discover audiobooks because I thought that I wasn’t reading, but that it would be more like listening to talk radio. Until one day, I thought I’d give audiobooks a try. I figured I’d start with popular fiction novel to listen…James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club series. I loved the audiobook series, the narrator, the sound effects, the pacing. So this is my final reading challenge that I’ll be joining.
I’ll be doing the Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20. Although I’m certain I could do another level up, but I’ve got a few other things that I’ll be doing this year and I don’t want to add too much to my plate.

  1. The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore
  2. The Fall of Five by Pittacus Love
  3. The Medusa Plot by Gordon Korman
  4. The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielson
  5. Carter Finally Gets It by Brent Crawford
  6. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
